The Logan Area Public Library opened its doors in 1997 as part of the Logan Middle School. Being located within the Middle School, we are centrally located to the citizens in our area. The Library has many FREE services available for the public to take advantage of. We invite you to stop in and "Check out" what we have to offer.

FALL DECO MESH CLASS: Last year we made a Halloween Wreath, this year we will be doing a Fall wreath. The class will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, beginning at 5:30 p.m.. Cost of the class is $35.00, which includes all materials. Money must be paid by Friday, August 22, 2014, at closing time. to ensure that we receive the materials on time. Workspace in the library is limited, accordingly we must limit class space to 20 people.

The Fizz, Boom, Read! 2014 Summer Reading Program ended on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, with a pizza party. Each child that participated recieved a certificate and a gift card. Kaylee Sheppard recieved 1st place for reading the most books this summer. Kaylee read 113 books. Olivia Marcum came in 2nd place with 75 books, and Evan Marcum came in 3rd place with 65 books. We are so proud of all of our little readers. We had 10 kids with perfect attendance this year: Allie Burton, Caleb Burgess, Tristan Burgess, Danielle Mahone, Molly Mahone, Rebekah Mahone, Evan Marcum, Olivia Marcum, Lucas Maynard, and Evelyn Ward. Way to go kiddos!

A big thank you goes out to all the mom's for helping us out during our experiments, as well as for sharing your kids with us this summer. We had a blast! Check out our facebook page to see all the great pictures we took of our summer reading adventures.

Storytime will begin on Thursday, September 11, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 6 p.m., and continue every Thursday. Everyone is invited to attend. We read a story, do a craft, play games, and have a small snack. This program is especially good for preschool age children because it helps with the development of social skills before beginning school.

READING CONTEST: We are challenging all school age children to READ, READ, READ! All you have to do to participate in our reading contest is check out and read a book from the library, fill out the form provided, and place it in the box provided. At the end of each month, we will have a drawing. The lucky winner will receive a $15.00 Walmart gift card. The more books you read, the more you increase your chances of winning.

DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY IS BACK! Good News for all of you with toddlers receiving books from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library! We received word that they will begin sending books to your child again in the very near future. If you have a child under the age of 5 years old who is not signed up, please stop by the library to sign them up to day! Your child will receive a free book in the mail every month until their 5th birthday.

FREE ONLINE MUSIC: You can now DOWNLOAD millions of songs from over 10,000 labels at your Library.Click the link above or go to our programs page and click on the link provided, type in your Library Card Number, and your pin number, to have access to these FREE songs. Limit 3 per week.
