SUMMER READING 2016 SCHEDULE

ON YOUR MARK,
GET SET,
READ!

The Logan Area Public Library invites everyone to attend our 2016 Summer Reading Program.  This year’s theme is all about exercising your mind and your body!  We will have lots of great activities, games, prizes, crafts, snacks, and tons of fun!  Children of all ages are invited to attend.  Click on the links below to get a copy of our Registration forms or stop by the Library to register. Contact us at 304-752-6652. You may also visit us on FB at https://www.facebook.com/loganlib to register. The Program will last 5 weeks and be on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., each week. The Schedule is as follows: 

WEEK 1: JUNE 21, 2016 – GAME DAY KICKOFF!  We will kick off our Summer Reading Program with games, crafts, and football fun!

WEEK 2:  JUNE 28, 2016– STORY WALK!  Mrs. Jackie will take us on a reading adventure that will exercise our minds and our bodies!

There will be no Program the week of July 4, 2016.

WEEK 3:  JULY 12, 2016 – FUEL YOUR ENGINES! We will play fun games that relate to the importance of healthy eating, and we will sample some delicious fruit and veggies!

WEEK 4:  JULY 19, 2016 – SPECIAL GUEST, STACY BOND, will be here to host this week’s Program.  Stacy is a member of the Youth Services Team at the Cabell County Public Library.  Stacy will have lots of fun and games for the kids!

WEEK 5:  JULY 26, 2016 – POOL PARTY at the REC CENTER! We will end our program with pool party! Certificates and Prizes for completing the program will be given out at the end of the party.

ADULT CRAFT CLASSES: The library will periodically be offering painting classes for beginners as well as wreath making classes. Like us on Facebook to keep up with all of our current events and programming schedules.

STORYTIME: Your children are invited to join us for storytime every Thursday from 5p.m. to 6p.m.. We read a story, do a craft, play games, and have a snack! This program is particulary good for pre-school children who need socialization with other children. Everyone is invited to join the fun! Storytime will begin in the Fall in 2016!

EBOOK/AUDIO BOOKS: Checking out books has never been easier! You can download them from West Virginia Reads for free with your Library Card and a pin number. Click on the Overdrive Button to download hundreds of ebooks and audiobooks for free! If you need help, call us for more information.

SEWING/QUILTING CIRCLE: We have a quilting circle that meets here at the library every other Thursday from 6:30 to 9:00 PM.. We will be teaching new quilters and offering a wonderful opportunity to work together and finish your projects. We will be working on group projects, and individual projects. Bring your current project, or bring your enthusiasm to learn, and we'll see you there!

COUPON SWAP: Cut out all the coupons you want from the Sunday newspaper fliers. Bring in the remaining unwanted coupons to the library any time on Mondays for others to browse. We will have a box to hold all the coupons.

PAPERBACK TRADE RACK: Come check out our paperback trade rack! Bring in your old paperback and select a new one from our rack. We have books from authors such as Catherine Coulter, Debbie Macomber, John Grisham and more!
